Guru Gobind Singh

Guru Gobind Singh (1666-1703) was the 10th and last of the living Sikh Gurus. Although his teachings and legacy are not at the present time particularly well-known outside of India in general and the Sikh community in particular, Guru Gobind Singh was undoubtedly one of the most evolved, visionary and impactful spirits ever to have set foot upon this planet. He was a great poet, philosopher, statesman, warrior and leader. He was handsome, athletic, intellectually brilliant, brave, divinely inspired and incomparably charismatic.

Guru Gobind Singh lived at a time and place of great social injustice, intolerance and religious hypocrisy (not unlike the world we live in today, albeit even more brutal). In response to this, he taught and advocated for a form of spiritualtity that not only gave us the tools for attaining the heights of human consciousness, but also asked us to be the most evolved and involved citizens we could possibly be in the community of mankind.

To this end, he created a fraternity/sorority called Khalsa ("Pure Ones"), whose initiated members would commit to living the teachings and lifestyle of the Guru at the highest possible level. This commitment included daily practice of a particular spiritual discipline, along with allegiance to an incredibly noble code of conduct. The totality of this commitment in practice is known as the Khalsa Spiritual Path, the experience of which we may refer to as Khalsa Consciousness.

The driving force behind The Khalsa Consciousness Project is the intention to share with the entire world Guru Gobind Singh's road map guiding us towards personal and global liberation; a timeless, universal and revolutionary message that will relate to and resonate with every human being, regardless of race, creed, nationality or religion.
